FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SE SD/SW MN/NW IA/NE NEBRASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SIOUX FALLS SD
452 AM CDT MON APR 27 2015

.DISCUSSION...
WEAK HIGH PRESSURE WILL DOMINATE THE AREAS WEATHER TODAY. THE
WINDS WILL BE PRETTY LIGHT THIS MORNING...AND LARGELY INFLUENCED
BY LOCAL TERRAIN EFFECTS. HOWEVER BY MIDDAY...THE WINDS SHOULD
BEGIN TO SETTLE INTO A NORTHEAST DIRECTION...WITH THE STRONGEST
WINDS OF 12 TO 18 MPH GENERALLY IN EXTREME NORTHWEST IOWA AND
THE SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA. A DRY DAY WILL BE
ON TAP WITH WELL MIXED CONDITIONS.

LIGHT WINDS WILL PREVAIL TONIGHT BUT THEN A WIND SHIFT WILL MOVE
THROUGH...WITH NORTHERLY WINDS PREVAILING ON TUESDAY MAINLY
IN THE 10 TO 20 MPH RANGE. ONE THING TO MINDFUL OF IS ON TUESDAY...
THERE WILL BE MID CLOUDS AROUND THAT COULD PRODUCE SOME SPRINKLES
OR VERY LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS. IF THIS HAPPENS...THE AIR IS DRY
ENOUGH THAT MUCH OF THE RAINFALL WILL EVAPORATE BEFORE IT REACHES
THE SURFACE WHICH COULD CAUSE SOME GUSTY CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

MEASURABLE RAINFALL CHANCES DO NOT LOOK VERY GOOD AT ALL THROUGH
SATURDAY. HOWEVER THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT THUNDERSTORMS COULD
BE AROUND NEXT SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT PRODUCING WETTING RAINS.
UNSETTLED WEATHER COULD THEN CONTINUE FOR THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT
WEEK BRINGING IN A POSSIBILITY OF MORE RAIN.
