WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MINNESOTA

A COLD FRONT WAS MOVING INTO WESTERN MINNESOTA EARLY THIS MORNING.
A BAND OF SHOWERS WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRONT AS IT WAS MOVING
EAST. THICKER CLOUDS MOVED INTO ALL BUT THE FAR EASTERN PORTION OF
THE STATE BY EARLY MORNING.  TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE UPPER 20
ALONG THE FAR NORTHEAST PORTION OF THE STATE TO THE MID AND
UPPER 50S IN THE WEST.

THIS COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO MOVE INTO CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND
GRADUALLY WEAKEN DURING THE DAY.  SHOWERS WILL BE LIKELY INTO
CENTRAL MINNESOTA BEFORE THEY WEAKEN AS THEY MOVE EAST INTO WESTERN
WISCONSIN INTO THE AFTERNOON.  SUNSHINE WILL BE MORE PREVALENT INTO
THE WEST THIS AFTERNOON...AND THIS IS WHERE TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO TOP OUT IN THE MID 70S.  THE EAST WILL STAY IN THE
THICKER CLOUDS WITH 60S COMMON.

CLOUDS WILL GRADUALLY THIN TO THE EAST INTO TONIGHT...AND ANY
SHOWERS WILL COME TO AN END IN THE EARLY EVENING.  LOWS TONIGHT ARE
EXPECTED TO RANGE IN THE LOWER 40S TO LOWER 50S.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WILL INCREASE AGAIN TO THE
NORTHWEST SATURDAY AND WILL SPREAD EAST AND SOUTH INTO SUNDAY AS
ANOTHER COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE STATE.  WARMER AIR WILL MOVE
ACROSS THE STATE INTO THE WEEKEND WITH HIGHS EXPECTED TO WARM
THROUGH THE 70S NORTH AND LOWER 80S IN THE SOUTH BOTH DAYS.  SOME OF
THE STORMS THAT DEVELOP ALONG THE FRONT SUNDAY AFTERNOON COULD BE
STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE TO THE SOUTHEAST...WITH HAIL AND GUSTY
WINDS.

WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED MUCH OF NEXT
WEEK...WITH INCREASING RAIN CHANCES RETURNING BY MIDWEEK.
