FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
559 AM EDT THU APR 16 2015

...FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS REMAIN ELEVATED INTO FRIDAY...

.DISCUSSION...VERY DRY AIRMASS IN PLACE ALONG WITH WELL ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL KEEP WILDFIRE CONCERNS ELEVATED THROUGH
FRIDAY. TEMPERATURES BOTH DAYS WILL REACH WELL INTO THE 60S PERHAPS
TOPPING OUT AROUND 70 DEGREES AT A FEW WESTERN INTERIOR LOCATIONS.
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES...ESPECIALLY OVER THE WESTERN
INTERIOR...ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO DROP TO AROUND 20 PERCENT BOTH DAYS.
THE ONLY INHIBITING FACTOR FOR WILDFIRES IS THAT WINDS SHOULD REMAIN
RELATIVELY LIGHT BOTH DAYS...GENERALLY LESS THAN 15 MPH. EXPECT
TEMPERATURES TO COOL THIS WEEKEND...ESPECIALLY NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR...
IN THE WAKE OF A COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE FRIDAY NIGHT. A LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE PLAINS WILL THEN BRING RAIN INTO THE AREA
ON SUNDAY. AS THE LOW PULLS INCREASINGLY COLDER AIR INTO THE AREA
FROM THE NORTH AND WEST...SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS WILL BEGIN TO MIX
WITH SNOW ON MONDAY FROM THE WEST...AND THEN CHANGE OVER TO MAINLY
SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
