MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS FOR RATON RIDGE AND JOHNSON MESA TODAY...

.A STRONG AND UNSEASONABLY COLD UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL CONTINUE TO BRING
MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW TO THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW
MEXICO TODAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL THIS
MORNING...TAPERING OFF TO SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE AFTERNOON.

EVENING...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THIS EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 10
  INCHES...LOCALLY UP TO 15 INCHES. HIGHEST AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED
  ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.

* TIMING...WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE
  PRIMARILY THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS...TAPERING OFF TO SNOW
  SHOWERS DURING THE AFTERNOON.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH.

* SNOW LEVELS...DROPPING TO BETWEEN 6000 AND 6500 FEET THIS
  MORNING WITH ACCUMULATING SNOW LEVELS FALLING TO NEAR OR JUST
  BELOW 7000 FEET.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...ROADS ABOVE 7500 FEET INCLUDING RATON AND
  BOBCAT PASSES WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW PACKED AND ICY. THE
  VISIBILITY WILL FALL BELOW A HALF MILE DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY
  SNOW.
