...SMOKE FROM A CONTROLLED BURN WILL AFFECT PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
BERKELEY AND INLAND CHARLESTON COUNTIES...

SURFACE OBSERVATIONS AND SATELLITE IMAGERY INDICATE THAT SMOKE
BEING GENERATED FROM A CONTROLLED BURN IN THE FRANCIS MARION
NATIONAL FOREST WILL AFFECT AREAS FROM CORDESVILLE AND MONCKS
CORNER SOUTH TO GOOSE CREEK AND LADSON. VISIBILITIES WILL
GENERALLY REMAIN 2 TO 4 MILES...BUT COULD BE LOWER ALONG PARTS OF
HIGHWAY 402 NEAR CORDESVILLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

ACTIVE CHILDREN AND ADULTS AS WELL AS THOSE WITH RESPIRATORY
AILMENTS THAT CAN BE TRIGGERED BY SMOKE SHOULD SEVERELY LIMIT
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AND STAY INDOORS. EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD LIMIT
PROLONGED OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR
SUDDEN CHANGES IN VISIBILITIES. USE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WHENEVER
DENSE SMOKE IS ENCOUNTERED.
