FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR TEXAS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
609 PM CDT WED APR 15 2015

.DISCUSSION...
DRY AND WARM GUSTY SOUTHWEST BREEZES THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE
WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS AND SOUTHWEST PANHANDLE WILL GRADUALLY TAPER
THIS EVENING. WIND SPEEDS WILL REMAIN BELOW CRITICAL LEVELS OTHER
THAN NEAR ISOLATED HIGH-BASED THUNDERSTORMS WHICH COULD GENERATE
LOCAL WIND GUSTS OF 50 MPH OR HIGHER. THUNDER CHANCES WILL INCREASE
LATER TONIGHT FOR MUCH OF THE AREA AS A DISTURBANCE ROTATES AROUND
AN UPPER LOW DIGGING TOWARDS THE FOUR-CORNERS. THIS SYSTEM WILL
BECOME NEARLY STATIONARY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AND MAY PRODUCE SEVERAL
ROUNDS OF STRONG OR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS...MAINLY FROM THE CENTRAL
AND EASTERN PANHANDLE AND SOUTH PLAINS INTO THE ROLLING PLAINS. AREAS
OF WETTING RAINFALL ALSO WILL OCCUR AGAIN FAVORING CENTRAL AND
EASTERN AREAS.
