WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHEASTERN NY...NORTHEASTERN NJ AND
SOUTHERN CT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
335 PM EDT TUE MAR 31 2015

LIGHT PRECIPITATION IS IN THE FORECAST AS LOW PRESSURE EJECTS OUT OF
THE OHIO VALLEY AND PASSES WELL SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND TONIGHT. THE
PRECIPITATION WILL START OFF AS ALL RAIN FOR MUCH OF THE REGION. THE
RAIN WILL MIX WITH SNOW WELL INLAND EARLY...FOLLOWED BY THE REST OF
THE AREA LATER TONIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION MAY CHANGE TO ALL SNOW
EVERYWHERE BEFORE ENDING. LITTLE IF ANY SNOW ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED BY DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY. LOWS TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM THE
MIDDLE 20S WELL INLAND...TO JUST ABOVE FREEZING IN THE NEW YORK CITY
METRO AREA. THEREFORE...ANY PRECIPITATION THAT DOES MELT TONIGHT
WILL FREEZE IN AREAS WHERE TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING.

DRY CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY AS HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS IN ON WEDNESDAY AND PUSHES OFFSHORE BY THURSDAY. A
NORTHWESTERLY FLOW WILL MEAN BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES ON
WEDNESDAY...WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE 40S. HOWEVER...A RETURN SOUTHERLY
FLOW ON THURSDAY WILL MEAN WARMER TEMPERATURES EVERYWHERE. IN
FACT...PORTIONS OF NEW YORK CITY AND NORTHEAST NJ...AND THE LOWER
HUDSON VALLEY MAY BREAK 60. LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHERN CT WILL ONLY
SEE HIGHS IN THE UPPER 40S TO LOWER 50S AS THE FLOW OFF THE COOL
OCEAN WATERS HOLDS TEMPERATURES DOWN IN THESE AREAS.
