EXPECT DRY AND VERY WARM CONDITIONS TODAY WITH UPPER LEVEL RIDGE
MOVING EAST BY EVENING. UPPER LEVEL TROF AND COLD FRONT MOVES
THROUGH IDAHO ON WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. EXPECT ISOLATED TO
SCATTERED MOUNTAIN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. FLOW TURNS WEST NORTHWEST THURSDAY WITH DRYING
CONDITIONS EXPECTED. SHOULD SEE ABOUT A 10 DEGREE DROP IN
TEMPERATURES AS WELL ON THURSDAY. SHOULD SEE 10 TO 20 MPH WINDS IN
THE SNAKE RIVER PLAIN AND SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS WITH THE FRONT ON
WEDNESDAY.

GOING FORECAST. BOTH GFS AND ECMWF MAINTAIN ZONAL FLOW FOLLOWING
THURSDAY FEATURE. BY SUNDAY...ZONAL FLOW SAGS INTO BROAD TROUGH
ACROSS IDAHO. OPERATIONAL MODELS AND ENSEMBLES SHOW SLIGHTLY
DIFFERENT TIMING AND DEPTH OF SHORTWAVE AS IT SINKS INTO THE REGION
SATURDAY NIGHT AND BEYOND. WILL BE DIFFICULT TO TIME GIVEN
PRECEDING FAST ZONAL FLOW. MOISTURE DOES APPEAR TO BE LIMITED AS
WELL. DMH
