SUMMARY...THE OVERALL UPPER LEVEL PATTERN TURNED MORE ACTIVE ACROSS
THE NORTHWESTERN U.S. IN APRIL. THIS MEANT MORE PRECIPITATION FOR
MANY LOCATIONS ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MONTANA COMPARED TO WHAT
FELL IN MARCH. HOWEVER...EVEN WITH MORE PRECIPITATION THAN
MARCH...APRIL STILL CAME IN BELOW NORMAL AT HELENA. PRECIPITATION
FOR THE MONTH IN HELENA WAS 0.45 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE WAS 1.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.
