...MARCH WAS WARMER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL IN OMAHA...

MARCH WAS DOMINATED BY WARM AND DRY WEATHER...WITH JUST A COUPLE OF
COOL STRETCHES...AND WITH THE BULK OF PRECIPITATION FALLING IN JUST
ONE DAY. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 43.7 DEGREES WAS 4.2 DEGREES
ABOVE NORMAL AND THE 19TH WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD...AND THE TOTAL
PRECIPITATION OF 0.54 INCHES WAS 1.45 INCHES BELOW NORMAL AND THE
23RD DRIEST MARCH ON RECORD. MORE TELLINGLY...THE AVERAGE MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE FOR OMAHA WAS 58.7 DEGREES...WHICH IS THE 7TH WARMEST ON
RECORD FOR MARCH. ADDITIONALLY...WITH ONLY 0.2 INCHES OF SNOW IN
MARCH...THE TOTAL SEASONAL SNOWFALL OF 13.8 INCHES REMAINS WELL
BELOW NORMAL AND IS THE 7TH LOWEST TOTAL ON RECORD.

MARCH DID BEGIN ON THE COOL SIDE...WITH THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE OF
THE MONTH OCCURRING ON THE 5TH AT 3 DEGREES. LIGHT FREEZING RAIN
FELL ON THE 3RD...AND A LIGHT DUSTING OF SNOW WAS REPORTED ON THE
4TH. TEMPERATURES SWUNG QUICKLY TO WARM READINGS ON THE 6TH...WITH
ABOVE-NORMAL TEMPERATURES CONTINUING THROUGH THE 23RD. NO
PRECIPITATION FELL DURING THAT PERIOD...AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE
NEVER FELL BELOW 50 DEGREES. THE WARMEST READING OF THE MONTH...88
DEGREES ON THE 16TH...WAS A DAILY RECORD...BEATING THE PREVIOUS
RECORD BY 7 DEGREES. THAT 88 DEGREE TEMPERATURE ALSO WAS THE
EARLIEST READING OF 88 DEGREES OR WARMER ON RECORD...BEATING THE
PREVIOUS RECORD OF 3/22/1910 BY 6 DAYS.

A COLD FRONT ON THE 24TH BROUGHT ALMOST ALL OF THE TOTAL MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION...WITH 0.52 INCHES OF RAIN...AND A SHIFT TO BELOW-
NORMAL TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE 28TH. MILD WEATHER RETURNED FOR THE
29TH THROUGH 31ST...AND MARCH WENT OUT LIKE A LAMB.
