THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...
  SOUTHERN WAYNE COUNTY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

* UNTIL 1000 PM CDT

* AT 653 PM CDT THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PASSED THROUGH THE AREA...WITH
RADAR ESTIMATES OF 1 TO 3 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION IN THE ADVISORY
AREA. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAY PASS THROUGH THE AREA
OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS...INCREASING THE RISK FOR FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER ON COUNTRY ROADS AND
FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
