FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
412 PM AKDT SAT APR 25 2015

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT THIS EVENING
FOR LOW HUMIDITY FOR NORTH AND EAST ANCHORAGE...

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT THIS
EVENING FOR LOW HUMIDITY ACROSS THE MATANUSKA VALLEY...

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT THIS
EVENING FOR LOW HUMIDITY FROM TALKEETNA SOUTH...

.DISCUSSION...
LIGHT NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP LATER THIS EVENING FROM THE MATANUSKA
AND SUSITNA VALLEYS THROUGH THE COOK INLET REGION. THESE WINDS MAY HINDER
THE RECOVERY OF RH ACROSS THE MAT-SU REGION TONIGHT...HOWEVER RH VALUES
ARE STILL EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE CRITICAL LEVELS BY LATE THIS EVENING.
AFTERNOON MINIMUM RH VALUES ARE THEN EXPECTED TO BEGIN A GRADUAL UPWARD
TREND BEGINNING ON SUNDAY AS MID/UPPER LEVEL CLOUDS BEGIN TO INCREASE ACROSS
SOUTHCENTRAL AK AHEAD OF A WEAK UPPER LEVEL WAVE THAT WILL APPROACH THE AREA
FROM THE EAST ON SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS WAVE WILL SPREAD RAIN SHOWERS OVER THE
COPPER RIVER BASIN SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY...WITH THE CHANCE FOR SHOWERS
INCREASING OVER THE MAT-SU AND COOK INLET REGIONS BY MONDAY AFTERNOON.
