AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OMAHA/VALLEY NE
338 PM CDT SUN APR 26 2015

.SHORT TERM...(TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY)
ISSUED AT 314 PM CDT SUN APR 26 2015

LITTLE IN THE WAY OF SENSIBLE WEATHER IS EXPECTED DURING THE SHORT
TERM WITH THE SPLIT FLOW PATTERN CONTINUING ACROSS THE US. THE LOW
IN THE SOUTHERN STREAM IN NM/TX TODAY WILL STAY WELL TO OUR
SOUTH. THE NEXT SYSTEM FOR THE CWA WILL BE WITH THE NORTHERN
STREAM /CURRENTLY OVER ALBERTA THIS AFTERNOON/ THAT PUSHES INTO
THE NORTHERN PLAINS ON MON NIGHT AND TUES ALLOWING FOR A WEAK WIND
SHIFT/FRONT TO SLIP THROUGH THE FA. WE MAY SEE SOME INCREASE IN
CLOUDS WITH THIS ON TUE BUT PRECIP ISN`T EXPECTED FOR OUR AREA.
TEMPERATURES...ESPECIALLY HIGHS...WILL BE ON THE INCREASE THROUGH
WED WITH TEMPERATURES ALOFT INCREASING AND DRY AIR HELPING WITH
GOOD MIXING.

.LONG TERM...(WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY)
ISSUED AT 314 PM CDT SUN APR 26 2015

UPPER LEVEL RIDGING OVER THE WESTERN US WILL EXPAND EWD DURING
THIS PERIOD. THIS WILL LEAD TO GENERALLY DRY CONDITIONS TO START
THE PERIOD AND A WARMING TREND. THE GFS AND EC DO INDICATE A WEAK
SYSTEM TOPPING THIS EXPANDING RIDGE ON FRI WITH A WEAK BOUNDARY
MOVG THROUGH THE AREA /EC IS STRONGER WITH THIS THAN THE GFS/.
MOISTURE RETURN WILL BE VERY LIMITED WITH THE CURRENT SOUTHERN
PLAINS SYSTEM PUSHING QUALITY GULF MOISTURE WELL OFF SHORE THROUGH
MID WEEK. THUS WE WILL LEAVE THE FORECAST THROUGH FRI NIGHT DRY.
FLOW TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEKEND DOEST START TO BECOME MORE WEST
SOUTHWEST WHICH MAY ALLOW FOR A BIT BETTER CHANCE AT PRECIP TOWARD
THE START OF NEXT WEEK WITH A BOUNDARY NEAR THE AREA.
