A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DRIFTING OUT OF THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES WILL
CONTINUE TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE PLAINS THE REST OF TODAY AND
TONIGHT...RESULTING IN OFF AND ON SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES
FOR MUCH OF THE REGION. THE MOST WIDESPREAD AREAS OF THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED IN THE HIGH PLAINS OF WESTERN KANSAS INTO WESTERN
NEBRASKA THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...WITH THOSE STORMS MOVING ACROSS THE
REST OF NEBRASKA AND KANSAS OVERNIGHT. HOWEVER SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON IN IOWA
AND THE EASTERN SECTIONS OF NEBRASKA AND KANSAS AS A HUMID
ATMOSPHERE REMAINS IN PLACE.  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS
EXPECTED TO PERSIST ACROSS MUCH OF THE MIDWEST THROUGHOUT THIS
UPCOMING WEEKEND.  HOWEVER...CLOSER IN TIME...SKIES WILL AVERAGE
MOSTLY CLOUDY ACROSS MUCH OF MID AMERICA THROUGH TONIGHT. MORE
SUNSHINE IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON IN MISSOURI...WITH PEAKS OF THE
SUN SHOWING UP IN EASTERN NEBRASKA...EASTERN KANSAS AND SOUTHWEST
IOWA AS WELL.  MEANWHILE...THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY STRETCHED ACROSS
NEBRASKA AND IOWA...WILL LIFT NORTHWARD AS A WARM FRONT TONIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY...INTO SOUTH DAKOTA AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA.

HIGH TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON...WILL GENERALLY RISE INTO THE
70S...AND FOR MISSOURI INTO THE LOWER 80S.  LOWS TONIGHT...ARE
EXPECTED TO DROP BACK INTO THE 50S AND 60S.
