AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL
706 AM CDT MON MAY 4 2015

.UPDATE...
FOR 12Z AVIATION.

&&

.DISCUSSION...

A VERY QUIET AND DRY WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT
WEEK AS THE JET STREAM REMAINS TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF THE
REGION. THOUGH 500MB HEIGHTS WILL RISE ABOVE 582DM FOR THE NEXT
FEW DAYS...EASTERLY LOW-LEVEL FLOW SHOULD KEEP DAY TO DAY
AFTERNOON HIGHS FAIRLY STEADY IN THE LOW TO MID 80S THROUGH
WEDNESDAY. WARMER CONDITIONS ARE PROBABLE BY FRIDAY AND INTO THE
WEEKEND AS THE EASTERLY LOW-LEVEL FLOW CEASES WHILE AN UPPER-LEVEL
RIDGE AMPLIFIES ACROSS THE GULF COAST STATES. THE RIDGE COULD
BREAK DOWN BY NEXT MONDAY LEADING TO AN INCREASE IN RAIN CHANCES.

12Z TAF DISCUSSION.

SOME MINOR MVFR VISIBILITIES THIS MORNING AND SCT CLOUDS AROUND
7-8 KFT. SHOULD REBOUND TO VFR OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS AS
MIXING GETS GOING AND THINGS WARM UP. OTHERWISE...NO ISSUES WITH
EAST COAST HIGH PRESSURE WITH ONLY LIGHT EAST TO SOUTHEAST WINDS
TODAY ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA.
