...A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR
MITCHELL COUNTY...

AT 630 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED
TO INDICATE LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL FROM SHOWERS MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH OVER MUCH OF MITCHELL COUNTY. ALTHOUGH RAINFALL
RATES HAVE DECREASED...SOME FLOODING LIKELY CONTINUES ON ROADWAYS
IN COLORADO CITY...WESTBROOK AND RURAL AREAS. THE FLASH FLOODING
WARNING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL 7 PM CDT...BUT WATER COVERING ANY
ROADS WILL LIKELY NOT FULLY RECEDE UNTIL AFTER 9 PM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOODING DEATHS ARE PREVENTABLE...AND MANY OCCUR WHEN MOTORISTS
DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS. IT IS NEVER SAFE TO DRIVE ON FLOODED
ROADS. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW INCHES OF RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER TO QUICKLY
CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE. TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
