FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
440 PM AKDT WED MAY 6 2015

.DISCUSSION....A SURFACE FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD WIND AND RAIN
ACROSS THE GULF COAST AS IT LIFTS NORTH THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.
INLAND AREAS WILL INITIALLY STAY MOSTLY DRY DUE TO DOWNSLOPE FLOW OVER
THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS. HOWEVER...AS THIS DRYING FLOW WEAKENS THURSDAY
AND THURSDAY NIGHT AND MOISTURE PUSHES FURTHER INLAND EXPECT SCATTERED
SHOWERS ACROSS MUCH OF INTERIOR SOUTHCENTRAL. AN ADDITIONAL SOMEWHAT
DAMPER FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE FRIDAY.

ONE POTENTIAL AREA OF CONCERN TOMORROW WILL BE THE COPPER RIVER BASIN
WHERE THE INCOMING FRONTAL MOISTER WILL BE THE SLOWEST TO SPREAD INTO.
SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL PUSH THROUGH THE COPPER RIVER STRONGLY
IN THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING WHILE RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL
STILL REMAIN FAIRLY LOW. WITH INCREASING CLOUD COVER AND SLIGHTLY COOLER
TEMPERATURES...EXPECTING TO SEE RELATIVE HUMIDITIES REMAIN JUST ABOVE
RED FLAG THRESHOLDS AND CLIMB QUICKLY LATER IN THE EVENING...HOWEVER
SEVERAL HOURS OF DRY AND RATHER BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE FROM THE
LATE AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
