END LOCATION:           1.6 MILES SE OF MASON

STRONG THUNDERSTORM WINDS RAVAGED THE SOUTH SIDE OF MASON DURING
THE LATE NIGHT HOURS OF APRIL 26.  YESTERDAY...A NWS SURVEY TEAM
WENT TO MASON TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE.

IT APPEARS THE REAR FLANK DOWNDRAFT OF A THUNDERSTORM BROUGHT
HIGH WINDS FROM ALOFT DOWN TO THE SURFACE AND RESULTED IN
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS.  MOST OF THE DAMAGE AND DEBRIS POINTED TOWARDS
THE EAST.  THE HIGHEST WIND GUSTS WERE ESTIMATED AT AROUND 105 MPH
AS IT SNAPPED LARGE OAK TREE TRUNKS AND BROKE WINDOWS IN A COUPLE OF
HOMES WITH WIND DRIVEN DEBRIS.  THE DAMAGING THUNDERSTORM WINDS UPROOTED
TREES...BROKE NUMEROUS TREE LIMBS...PEELED OFF SOME ROOF COVERING...AND
EVEN BLEW A HEAVY DEER BLIND FROM A FIELD ONTO HIGHWAY 87.
