A FRONTAL BOUNDARY WAS STALLED OUT SOUTH OF I-80 ON TUESDAY
AFTERNOON. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED NEAR THE
BOUNDARY...WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS PRODUCING HAIL UP TO NICKEL
SIZE...HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING. TO THE NORTH OF THE
FRONT...COOL AND DAMP CONDITIONS OCCURRED...WITH FOG NEAR THE
LAKEFRONT. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE UPPER 40S TO UPPER
60S NORTH OF THE FRONT...COOLEST NEAR THE ILLINOIS SHORE. NEAR AND
SOUTH OF THE FRONT...HIGHS RANGED FROM THE LOWER 70S TO THE LOWER
80S. AREAS OF FOG CONFINED TO THE LAKESHORE AS OF THE LATE
AFTERNOON WILL EXPAND INLAND TUESDAY NIGHT AND COULD BECOME DENSE
IN SPOTS. LOW TEMPERATURES BY EARLY WEDNESDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE
MID 40S TO MID 50S NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AND MID 50S TO LOWER 60S
SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

THE FRONT WILL LIFT BACK NORTH AS A WARM FRONT ON
WEDNESDAY...WITH HIGHS FROM THE UPPER 70S TO MID 80S...EXCEPT 60S
TO AROUND 70 ALONG THE ILLINOIS SHORE AND PORTIONS OF THE INDIANA
SHORE DUE TO ONSHORE WINDS. THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR AN
ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM IN THE LATE AFTERNOON IN PARTS OF
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS. THURSDAY WILL FEATURE SUMMER LIKE WARMTH FOR
THE WHOLE AREA...WITH HIGHS REACHING THE LOWER TO MID 80S.
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
DURING THE AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY THE EVENING.
