REGIONAL WEATHER STORY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
830 AM EDT MON MAY 4 2015

IT WAS CLEAR OVERNIGHT ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND WITH LOW
TEMPERATURES RANGING IN THE 40S...BUT WITH A FEW LOCATIONS IN THE
LOW 50S. SOUTHWEST WINDS DEVELOPED OVERNIGHT AND BY SUNRISE LOW
CLOUDS FORMED ALONG THE SOUTH COAST OF RHODE ISLAND AND OVER
BUZZARDS BAY.

FOR TODAY IT WILL BE DRY AND WARM ACROSS THE INTERIOR UNDER MOSTLY
SUNNY SKIES. HIGH PRESSURE POSITIONED OFFSHORE WILL CAUSE BREEZY
SOUTHWEST WINDS ENABLING TEMPERATURES TO WARM INTO THE UPPER 70S AND
LOW 80S ACROSS THE INTERIOR. THE SOUTHWEST WINDS HOWEVER WILL KEEP
IT COOLER ALONG THE SOUTH COAST ALONG WITH THE FORMATION OF LOW
CLOUDS. HIGHS ALONG THE SOUTH COAST WILL BE CAPPED IN THE 60S AND
LOW 70S.

A SOUTHWEST BREEZE WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT WHILE CLOUDS INCREASE
ACROSS THE REGION. LOWS WILL RANGE IN THE 50S.

A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS
TO THE REGION ON TUESDAY...AND PERHAPS A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. IT WILL
BE WARM WITH HIGHS IN THE 70S TO NEAR 80 DEGREES OVER THE
INTERIOR...WITH 60S ACROSS THE SOUTH COAST.

LOOKING AHEAD...MAINLY DRY WEATHER WITH MILD TO WARM AFTERNOONS ARE
EXPECTED WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER NEW
ENGLAND. SEA BREEZES AT TIMES MAY RESULT IN LOCALIZED COOLER
CONDITIONS ALONG THE COASTS. WARM CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE
WEEKEND BUT A WARM FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE SOUTHWEST ON SATURDAY
COULD BRING THE NEXT CHANCE FOR SHOWERS. A COLD FRONT FOLLOWS ON
SUNDAY AND MAY BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS.
