AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
507 AM CDT THU MAY 7 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A NON TROPICAL LOW OFF THE CAROLINA COAST WILL MOVE GRADUALLY TO
THE NORTH TODAY AS STORMS CONTINUE OVER SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA AND
NORTH TEXAS. THESE STORMS ARE MOVING EAST AND WILL HAVE NO BEARING
ON OUR WEATHER LOCALLY. CURRENTLY TEMPERATURES AROUND THE REGION
RANGE FROM THE MID 60S INLAND TO MID 70S IN THE COASTAL WATERS.

SCATTERED SHOWERS YESTERDAY WERE MAINLY NORTH OF THE I-10
CORRIDOR AS THE REGION REMAINS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH
PRESSURE TO OUR EAST.

TODAY WILL BE A CARBON COPY OF YESTERDAY WITH TEMPS BACK INTO THE
MID 80S AND SCATTERED AFTERNOON SHOWERS WITH AN ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORM POSSIBLE. A WEAKNESS ALOFT IS PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR
THE STORM DEVELOPMENT. WE HAVE BEEN IN A PERSISTENT PATTERN OVER
THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS AND THAT WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY. WHICH
WILL MEAN AFTN HIGHS IN THE MID 80S AND SCTD STORMS INTO THE EARLY
EVE HOURS.

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL MOVE OUT OF THE ROCKIES ON SATURDAY AND
INTO THE PLAIN STATES. THIS NEXT SYSTEM WILL START TO INCREASE
SHOWER CHANCES LATE IN THE WEEKEND AND CONTINUE INTO THE FIRST
PART OF NEXT WEEK. THE FRONT LOOKS TO MAKE ITS WAY THROUGH THE
REGION ON TUESDAY. THIS WILL COOL TEMPERATURES LATE NEXT WEEK.
