FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EAST KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
634 AM EDT SAT APR 25 2015

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE LATE TODAY AND THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL
BRING SHOWERS THIS MORNING. AFTER A RELATIVE LULL IN PRECIPITATION
FOR A TIME THIS AFTERNOON...ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP LATE THE DAY OR THIS EVENING. SOME OF THESE
THUNDERSTORMS COULD BRING LARGE HAIL...HIGH WINDS...AND ISOLATED
TORNADOES. THE GREATEST SEVERE WEATHER THREAT APPEARS TO BE OVER
THE CUMBERLAND RIVER BASIN. AREAS WHICH REPEATEDLY GET
THUNDERSTORMS COULD ALSO HAVE LOCALIZED FLOODING TONIGHT. AS THE
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM PASSES...A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH SOUTH THROUGH
THE REGION TONIGHT...AND DRIER AND COOLER AIR WILL ARRIVE TO FINISH
THE WEEKEND AND LAST INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.
