.SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED IN THE SOUTHERN SIERRA FROM A
LATE SEASON COLD STORM THAT WILL IMPACT THE REGION THURSDAY AND
FRIDAY.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THURSDAY TO 3 PM
PDT FRIDAY ABOVE 6000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 6000 FEET FOR SNOW ON THE EAST SLOPES OF THE
SOUTHERN SIERRA...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THURSDAY TO 3 PM
PDT FRIDAY.

* TIMING: SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN
  SIERRA THURSDAY LATE THURSDAY MORNING AND EXPAND THROUGH THE
  AFTERNOON. NUMEROUS SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THURSDAY NIGHT AND
  FRIDAY MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW LEVEL: STARTING AROUND 7000 FEET THURSDAY AFTERNOON THEN
  LOWERING TO AROUND 5500 FEET THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 8 INCHES.

* IMPACTS: A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF
  SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND
USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING. HIKERS AND CAMPERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY
