FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
420 AM MDT SUN MAY 03 2015

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT WILL BECOME
SLIGHTLY SOUTHWEST AS A DISTURBANCE PASSES OVERHEAD. A COLD FRONT
WILL PUSH DOWN OVER THE AREA STARTING MIDMORNING TURNING WINDS NORTH
TO NORTHEASTERLY THROUGH TONIGHT. INCREASING MOISTURE WILL BRING
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS BY THIS EVENING WITH SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS. INITIALLY...SOME STORMS WILL BE HIGH BASED WITH LIGHT
RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS...THEN BY LATE AFTERNOON HAVE A BETTER CHANCE
FOR WETTING RAINS. WETTING RAINS WILL BE LIKELY OVER THE EASTERN
SLOPES OF THE FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS AND PLAINS
TONIGHT.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... MOIST AND
UNSETTLED WEATHER WILL REMAIN IN THE FORECAST THROUGH MUCH OF THIS
WEEK. NUMEROUS SHOWERS...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...AND WETTING RAINS
CAN BE EXPECTED MONDAY AND TUESDAY...WITH SOME DECREASE IN COVERAGE
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVES FROM
COLORADO INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS. COOLER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES
MONDAY AND TUESDAY WILL WARM TO SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL LEVELS BY
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
