DISCUSSION:

A FASTING MOVING COLD FRONT WILL BRING LIGHT SHOWERS TO AREAS NORTH
OF POINT CONCEPTION TODAY. RAIN WILL REACH SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY BY
THIS MORNING...THEN SPREAD INTO SANTA BARBARA COUNTY DURING THE THE
LATE MORNING HOURS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS NORTH OF POINT CONCEPTION WILL BE ON
THE ORDER OF 0.10-0.25 INCHES. ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION
EXISTS FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY...WITH
MEASURABLE RAIN VERY UNLIKELY IN THE COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS.
SHOWERS COULD LINGER INTO TONIGHT ON THE NORTH SLOPES NEAR
THE GRAPEVINE. SNOW LEVELS WITH THIS EVENT WILL BE NO LOWER THAN
6000-7000 FEET. FOLLOWING THE PASSAGE OF THIS SYSTEM...AN EXTENDED
PERIOD OF WARM AND DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED THROUGH AT LEAST THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THERE IS ONE MODEL THAT SLIDES A SHORT WAVE
TOWARDS THE CENTRAL COAST WHICH COULD BRING AN OUTSIDE CHANCE OF
SOME WEAK PRECIPITATION LATER NEXT WEEK.
