This page shows the number of lightning flashes per hour for each month of the year for the state of Colorado. The average number of lightning flashes for each day of the month are also shown. Note: The table below does not account for the year to year changes in the detection efficiencies of the NLDN, so the values in the table are higher than shown by ~15%. Example: between the time 22-23Z in the month of July, there are typically 523.0 lightning flashes across the state of Colorado.  Time in the table below is in "Z" time, or UTC time. During the Summer in Colorado, 12Z = 6am MDT, 00Z = 6 pm MDT.
