Lightning Safety: Examples of buildings which are unsafe to be in during lightning activity

This page discusses buildings which are not safe during lightning activity. Buildings which are not safe include any building which is “open” to the outside, or ANY tent structure (even if it is “enclosed”). Examples of buildings which are not safe include car ports, covered garage, covered patio, picnic shelters, beach shacks/pavilions, golf shelters, camping tents, large outdoor tents, baseball dugouts or any building which is “open” to the outside.
