APRIL 2009 – Colder and Wetter than Normal Across Central Wyoming

Casper

 

Casper’s average monthly temperature was 52.1 degrees which was 4.0 degrees below normal.  Temperatures
ranged from 14 degrees on the 5^th to 77 degrees on the 23^rd. No daily temperature records were set during the month.

The monthly precipitation total of 2.05 inches was 0.53 inches above normal. Snowfall for the month was 16.5 inches
which was 2.7 inches above normal.

The peak wind gust was 49 mph out of the north on the 4^th.

Lander’s average monthly temperature was 52.2 degrees which was 4.3 degrees below normal.
Temperatures ranged from 16 degrees on the 5^th to 74 degrees on the 22^nd and 23^rd. 
No daily temperature records were set during the month.

The monthly precipitation total of 3.61 inches was 1.54 inches above normal. Snowfall for the month
was 33.1 inches which was 13.2 inches above normal.   Lander has had 5.88 inches of precipitation so far
in 2009 which is 135 percent of normal.  5.65 inches of that precipitation has fallen since March 1^st.

Snowfall so far this season, since July 1, 2007, is 114.9 inches, or 120 percent of normal for the season.

The peak wind gust was 53 mph out of the west on the 22^nd.

Temperatures ranged from 18 degrees on the 5^th to 76 degrees on the 22^nd, 23^rd and 24^th.

The monthly precipitation total of 2.02 inches was 1.01 inches above normal. Snowfall for the month was 14.2 inches.
Downtown Riverton has had 3.42 inches of precipitation so far in 2009 which is 169 percent of normal. 

Snowfall so far this season, since July 1, 2007, is 49.9 inches.
