JANUARY 2010 – Cooler and Wetter than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 15.2 degrees which was 1.8
degrees below the normal of 17.0 degrees. The highest temperature
for January was 43 degrees which occurred on the 12^th. The lowest
reading was 31 degrees below zero which occurred on the 7^th.  No
record temperatures were recorded for January.

    Total precipitation for the month was 0.38 inches which was 0.10
inches above the normal of 0.28 inches for the month or 136 percent
of normal.   0.11 inches of precipitation on the 22^nd and 0.08 inches
of precipitation on the 24^th set new daily precipitation records for those dates. 

     The peak wind gust for the month was 29 mph out of the north on the 5^th. 

FEBRUARY 2010 – 10th Coldest on Record

     The average temperature for Worland was 20.8 degrees which
was 5.1 degrees cooler than normal.   The highest temperature for
the month was 45 degrees which occurred on the 25th, 27th and the 28th. 
The lowest reading was 9 below zero which occurred on the 9th.  No record
 temperatures were broken this February.

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.07 inches which was only 37 percent of
normal. 

     The peak wind gust for the month of 29 mph out of the northwest occurred on the 13th.

MARCH 2010 – 9^th Warmest, 3^rd Driest on Record

     The average temperature for Worland was 40.2 degrees. This was 2.1
degrees higher than the normal of 38.1 degrees and tied for the
9^th warmest March since records began in 1960. The highest temperature
for the month was 69 degrees which occurred on the 17^th.  The
lowest reading was 17 below which occurred on the 20^th
No daily record temperatures were broken this month. 

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.04 inches which was only 9
percent of normal, making March 2010 the 3^rd driest on record.

      The highest wind gust of 60 mph out of the southwest occurred on the 30^th. 

APRIL 2010 – 9th Driest on Record, Cooler than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 44.9 degrees. This was 2.9
degrees below the normal April mean temperature of 47.8 degrees. The
highest temperature for April was 75 degrees on the 19^th and 21^st. The
lowest reading was 19 degrees which occurred on the 10^th.   A record low
of 23 degrees was set on the 26^th. 

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.48 inches which was only
57 percent of normal,  and ties April of 1980 for the 9^th driest April since

records began in 1960.  

The highest wind gust was 58 mph out of the southwest on the 28^th.    

MAY 2010 – Coldest on Record, 10th Wettest on Record

     The average temperature for Worland was 50.0 degrees.  This was 7.6
degrees below the normal May mean temperature of 57.6 degrees, and
makes May 2010 the coldest May on record for Worland. The previous
record was set in 1983 and 1975 with an average May temperature of
 52.4 degrees. The highest temperature for May was 87 degrees which
occurred on the 27^th.  The lowest reading was 23 degrees which occurred
on the 5^th and set a new record low for that day.  Another record low of 26
degrees was set on the 8^th. 

     Total precipitation for the month was 2.49 inches which was 154 percent of normal,  
and makes May 2010 the 10^th wettest may on record for Worland.

     A peak wind gust of 45 mph out of the west occurred on the 4th.

JUNE 2010 – 10th Wettest, Cooler than Normal

    The average temperature for Worland was 63.9 degrees which was 3.5 degrees
below the normal of 67.4 degrees. The highest temperature for June was 100 degrees
which occurred on the 29^th, this reading was also the highest temperature recorded at
Worland in 2010. The lowest reading was 39 degrees which occurred on the 18^th.  
No daily record temperatures were recorded for June.

     Total precipitation for the month was 1.74 inches which was 157 percent of normal,
making June 2010 the 10^th wettest on record. 

     The highest wind gust of 64 mph out of the southwest occurred on the 30^th. 

JULY 2010 – Very Dry, Slightly Cooler than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 72.1 degrees. This was 1.6
degrees below the normal of 73.7 degrees.  The highest temperature
for July was 100 degrees which occurred on the 26^th, and also tied for
the highest temperature in 2010.  The lowest reading was 41 degrees
which occurred on the 7^th.  No daily record temperatures were recorded for July.

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.12 inches which was only 17
percent of normal; the 11^th driest July on record.

AUGUST 2010 – Very Dry, Slightly Cooler than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 70.4 degrees which was 1.5
degrees below the normal of 71.9 degrees. The highest temperature
for August was 100 degrees which occurred on the 22^nd and tied
the record high for that day, and also tied the highest temperature for 2010.
The lowest reading was 41 degrees which occurred on the 31^st.
No record low temperatures were recorded for August.

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.36 inches which was 65 percent of normal. 

     The highest recorded wind gust for the month was 45 mph out of the south on the 28th.

SEPTEMBER 2010 – 9th Driest on Record, Near Normal
Temperatures Overall but Several High and Low Records Broken

     The average temperature for Worland was 60.9 degrees which was 0.6
degrees above the normal of 60.3 degrees. The highest temperature
for September was 93 degrees which occurred on the 19^th and set
a new record high for that day.  The lowest temperature for the month and new record|
lows for the respective dates was 34 on the 3^rd and 7^th.

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.22 inches which was only
26 percent of normal and makes September 2010 the 9^th driest September
on record for Worland.

The peak wind gust for the month was 47 mph out of the north on the 5^th.

October 2010 - Fourth Warmest on Record, Drier than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 72.1 degrees. This was 1.6
degrees above the normal of 47.9 degrees, and makes October 2010 the
fourth warmest on record. The highest temperature for October was
88 degrees which occurred on the 3^rd. The lowest temperature was 21 degrees
which occurred on the 28^th.  The first freeze of the season occurred on October 13^th
when the low plunged to 31 degrees.

NOVEMBER 2010 – Warmer and Drier than Normal

     The average temperature for Worland was 27.7 degrees which was 4.1
degrees below normal, and makes November 2010 the eighth coldest November on record.
There were two new daily record low temperatures set during November:
16 below zero on the 24^th and 10 below zero on the 25^th.

      Total precipitation for the month was 0.52 inches which was 133 percent of normal. 

      The peak gust for the month was 41 mph out of the northwest on the 16th.

DECEMBER 2010 – Cooler than Normal, Near Normal Precipitation

      The average temperature for Worland was 18.3 degrees which was 1.9
degrees below normal. There were no record high or low temperatures
set in December. The high temperature for the month was 46 degrees on
the 14^th. The low temperature was 13 below zero on the 31^st.

     Total precipitation for the month was 0.24 inches which was 96 percent
of normal. 

     The peak gust for the month was 54 mph out of the northwest on the 11th.
