December 2012 was well above normal in temperatures for the month across the forecast area with both West Plains and Vichy having temperatures in the top 5 warmest Decembers for their stations. All 4 stations were within the top 15 warmest. It was also below normal on precipitation for most of the forecast area (see normal departure maps). A few of the systems late in the month brought some light snow to the area, but the majority of the snowfall with these systems occurred outside of our forecast area.
