...Climatalogical Summary for February 2007...

Much of February 2007 was spent in below normal to much below normal temperatures.  In fact if it wasn't for a few days of well above normal temperatures, February 2007 might have gone down as one of the coldest on record.

The upper level pattern for much of the month was from the northwest to north which kept bringing Canadian or Arctic cold fronts through the area every couple of days.  Average daytime temperatures from February 1st through around the middle of the month ranged from the single digits to teens below normal.

There was a period of days from the 19th through the 24th where temperatures were much above normal that lead to the warming up of the monthly average temperature.

Precipitation amounts were generally close to normal over western Missouri with much below normal precipitation near the Rolla Vichy area and above normal precipitation over south central Missouri.

Several records occurred throughout the month which are detailed below.

A quick moving storm system brought general 1 to 3 inch snow amounts to parts of the Missouri Ozarks on the 3rd and 4th of the month.
