...September 2008 Climate Summary...

September 2008 can generally be categorized by splitting the month in half.  The first half of the month was dominated by heavy rainfall, powered by 2 tropical systems - "Gustav" and "Ike".  Both systems brought record daily rainfall throughout much of the Ozarks and contributed to the above and much above normal precipitation totals for the month (See data and map below).  More information on the individual storm systems can be found in the links below. 

The second half of the month has been bone dry and has been dominated by high pressure, however due to the heavy rain and cloud cover from the first half of the month, temperatures were normal to below normal and precipitation was above to well above normal.
