 Event Summary

A winter storm brought heavy snow to southern Missouri from Thursday, December 5th to Friday, December 6th, 2013. Storm total snow accumulations generally ranged from 6 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts up to a foot at a few locations along and south of the Interstate 44. The higher accumulations occurred across far southern and south central Missouri along and either side of a line from Cassville to Ava, Houston and Round Spring. The snow was proceed by some light freezing rain accumulations up to a tenth of an inch and sleet accumulations to near 1" across far south central Missouri near the Arkansas border.
