THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL...EAST
CENTRAL...SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A PACIFIC WEATHER SYSTEM MOVING ACROSS THE GREAT BASIN REGION THIS
MORNING WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE INTO WESTERN COLORADO THROUGH TONIGHT.
MOIST SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST FLOW AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL ALLOW FOR
LIGHT SNOW TO DEVELOP ALONG THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE...WITH SNOW
INCREASING IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING HOURS. ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE EASTERN SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS BY FRIDAY MORNING...WITH 4 TO
8 INCHES POSSIBLE ACROSS THE LA GARITA MOUNTAINS...AS WELL AS THE
EASTERN SAWATCH AND MOSQUITO RANGES OF LAKE AND CHAFFEE COUNTIES.

SNOW WILL SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE HIGH MOUNTAIN VALLEYS THROUGH THE
EASTERN MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
SNOW FALL OF 4 TO 9 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE RAMPART RANGE
AND THE PALMER DIVIDE TONIGHT...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS EXPECTED ON
TOP OF PIKES PEAK. A COUPLE OF INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE HIGH MOUNTAIN VALLEYS...AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE
EASTERN MOUNTAINS AND IMMEDIATE ADJACENT PLAINS THROUGH TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MOST OF SOUTHERN COLORADO DURING THE DAY
FRIDAY...THEN GRADUALLY TAPER OFF TO FLURRIES FROM FRIDAY NIGHT
INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL FRIDAY WILL
OCCUR ALONG THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE...TELLER COUNTY AND THE PALMER
DIVIDE EARLY IN THE DAY...BEFORE SHIFTING SOUTH TO THE WET AND
SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS IN THE AFTERNOON. SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL
RANGE FROM 2 TO 5 INCHES OVER THE MOUNTAINS TO AN INCH OR TWO
OVER MOST MOUNTAIN VALLEYS AND ACROSS THE EASTERN PLAINS.

STILL ANOTHER WEATHER SYSTEM WILL IMPACT THE AREA EARLY NEXT
WEEK...BRINGING THE RISK OF LIGHT SNOW TO MUCH OF THE AREA MONDAY
INTO TUESDAY. BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL ALSO SPREAD ACROSS COLORADO
FROM MONDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...AND OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES MAY
FALL WELL BELOW ZERO BOTH TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY MORNINGS...WHILE
HIGH TEMPERATURES REMAIN BELOW FREEZING UNTIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT MEET REPORTING CRITERIA FOR SPOTTERS WILL BE
