.Updated information for the Cedar River at Vinton. The river is in
the process of cresting at Vinton early this morning, and is
expected to begin falling this afternoon.

River forecasts include past precipitation and forecast rainfall for
the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an
alternate route. Turn around, don`t drown.

  The Cedar River at Vinton.
* Until Thursday evening.
* At  5:15 AM Monday the stage was 21.8 feet...and steady.
* Flood stage is  15 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Recent activity...The river is in the process of cresting
  early this morning.
* Forecast...Remain around 21.8 feet this morning then begin
  falling. Fall below flood stage Thursday evening.
* Impact...At  19.5 feet...Water is at the bottom of the Iowa Highway
  150 bridge.

AREA RIVERS ARE EXPERIENCING FLOODING. PLEASE SEE THE LATEST
FLOOD STATEMENTS AND FLOOD WARNINGS FOR DETAILS.

STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND DRIED VEGETATION WILL
COMBINE TO RESULT IN A VERY HIGH THREAT OF AGRICULTURAL FIELD FIRES
TODAY. THIS THREAT IS GREATEST IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS AND
PRIMARILY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80...WHERE HEAVY RAINFALL HAS NOT
OCCURRED OVER THE PAST WEEK.
