URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...WINTER STORM TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA AND NORTHWEST
ILLINOIS THIS WEEKEND...

.THERE WILL BE TWO PERIODS OF SNOW. IN THE FIRST ROUND LIGHT TO
MODERATE SNOW WILL SPREAD FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST SATURDAY
EVENING. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR HEAVIER SNOW BANDS TO OCCUR WHICH
WOULD CAUSE QUICK REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY AND HEAVY SNOWFALL
RATES. THE SECOND ROUND OF SNOW WILL BE MORE WIDESPREAD, AND WILL
BEGIN ON SUNDAY. SOME AREAS MAY NOT SEE A BREAK BETWEEN THE TWO
ROUNDS.

CST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM SATURDAY
TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON SATURDAY IN
  IOWA. SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT AND THROUGH SUNDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES, WITH EVEN HIGHER AMOUNTS
  POSSIBLE NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30.

* WIND...SOUTHEAST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 20S.

* IMPACTS...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CREATE SLIPPERY TRAVEL
  CONDITIONS OVER THE AREA, AND WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY TO UNDER 1
  MILE AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES, AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
