THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL...NORTH
CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

THE MAXIMUM HEAT INDICES THIS AFTERNOON WILL RANGE FROM 105 TO
112 ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA. THESE DANGEROUS HEAT INDICES WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH 9 PM.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP BETWEEN 4 AND 6 PM...AND
SPREAD EAST AND SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS. IF THESE
STORMS ARE ABLE TO DEVELOP...THEY WOULD BE LIKELY TO PRODUCE
LOCALIZED DAMAGING WINDS STRONGER THAN 60 MPH. ANY PERSISTENT
STORMS MAY ALSO PRODUCE UP TO QUARTER SIZE HAIL...BUT WIND WILL
BE THE PRIMARY HAZARD. ANY STORMS WOULD LIKELY BEGIN TO WEAKEN OR
MOVE OUT OF THE AREA AFTER 9 PM.

ADDITIONAL SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE AFTER MIDNIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

THUNDERSTORM CHANCES EXIST IN NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST KANSAS
THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT...AND IN NORTHEAST KANSAS ON FRIDAY
NIGHT. SMALL CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF
THE AREA SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY.

  TO 112 DEGREES.

* TIMING...DANGEROUS HEAT INDEX VALUES CAN BE EXPECTED TO PERSIST
  THROUGH 9 PM.

* IMPACTS...THOSE EXPOSED TO THE EXTREME HEAT OVER A PROLONGED
  PERIOD MAY BE OVERCOME BY THE HEAT AND EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT
  HEALTH ISSUES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN HIGH HUMIDITIES ARE EXPECTED TO
COMBINE WITH HOT TEMPERATURES TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS
105 DEGREES OR GREATER. PERSONS ARE ADVISED TO AVOID PROLONGED
WORK IN THE SUN...OR IN POORLY VENTILATED AREAS. ALSO KEEP PLENTY
OF LIQUIDS ON HAND AND TRY TO STAY IN AN AIR CONDITIONED
ENVIRONMENT.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
