THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EARLY EVENING. THE STRONGEST
WINDS ARE ANTICIPATED ACROSS NORTHERN NEBRASKA...THE EASTERN
PANHANDLE AND THE CENTRAL SANDHILLS...INCLUDING CUSTER COUNTY.
THE STRONG WINDS MAY COMBINE WITH THE RECENT SNOWFALL TO CREATE
AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW...WHICH WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES IN OPEN
AREAS. THOSE TRAVELING ACROSS THE SANDHILLS REGION OF
NEBRASKA...THE EASTERN PANHANDLE OR NORTHERN NEBRASKA NEED TO
EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
AND REMAIN ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF STRONG CROSS WINDS.

A STORM SYSTEM OVER THE ARROWHEAD OF MINNESOTA WILL CAUSE STRONG
WINDS OVER WESTERN NEBRASKA TODAY. NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE
THROUGH THE MORNING OVER NORTHERN NEBRASKA AND SPREAD SOUTH INTO
SOUTHERN NEBRASKA THIS AFTERNOON. NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE
THROUGH THE MORNING AND BE SUSTAINED AT 30 TO 40 MPH THIS
AFTERNOON WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH. THE STRONG WINDS WILL CAUSE
BLOWING OF SNOW IN OPEN AREAS REDUCING VISIBILITIES. DRIFTING SNOW
WILL BE POSSIBLE ON EAST WEST ROADS AND WILL CAUSE SLICK SPOTS ON
ROAD SURFACES. STRONG CROSS WINDS WILL CAUSE DIFFICULT DRIVING FOR
HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
