THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HASTINGS HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  EAST CENTRAL HALL COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...
  WEST CENTRAL HAMILTON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...
  SOUTHWESTERN MERRICK COUNTY IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

* UNTIL 1015 PM CDT SUNDAY

* MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ALONG THE PLATTE RIVER ACROSS
  PORTIONS OF HALL...HAMILTON AND MERRICK COUNTIES. MINOR FLOODING
  HAS BEEN REPORTED IN FIELDS AND NEAR THE HOTEL AND ARBYS PARKING
  LOT NEAR THE GRAND ISLAND HIGHWAY 281 AND INTERSTATE 80
  INTERCHANGE. A FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY
  NIGHT FOR AREAS ADJACENT TO THE RIVER WHICH MAY BE IMPACTED BY
  HIGH WATER.

* AT GRAND ISLAND...THE RIVER STAGE WAS 6.27 FEET AT 915 PM FRIDAY
  WHICH IS JUST SHY OF THE FLOOD STAGE OF 6.5 FEET. THE RIVER IS
  FORECAST TO STAY NEARLY STEADY THROUGH SATURDAY...BUT BEGIN A SLOW
  RISE BY SUNDAY NIGHT MAY 31 OR MONDAY JUNE 1. THE RIVER WILL
  LIKELY CREST AGAIN NEAR FLOOD STAGE AROUND JUNE 3.

* FLOODING ALONG LOW LYING AREAS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE INTO EARLY
  NEXT MONTH. THOSE WITH PROPERTY INVESTMENTS ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD
  TAKE MEASURES TO PROTECT THEIR INVESTMENT.

* THESE FORECASTS ARE BASED LARGELY ON WATER ALREADY IN THE PLATTE
  RIVER BASIN. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IN THE BASIN WILL RESULT IN
  CHANGES TO ANTICIPATED STAGES AND TIMING OF CRESTS OR FALLS.
  ALWAYS CHECK RIVER STAGES AND FORECASTS DAILY AT A MINIMUM TO
  REMAIN INFORMED OF THE SITUATION.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE... LOW LYING
  AREAS NEAR THE HIGHWAY 281...AND INTERSTATE 80 EXIT 312
  INTERCHANGE.

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...

  Platte River Near Kearney Affecting Buffalo...Hall...Kearney and
  Phelps Counties. A second river crest will impact the Kearney
  area late this weekend.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Platte River Near Kearney.
* At  10:15 PM Friday the stage was 6.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to begin a slow rise and
  crest again around 6.8 feet late Sunday and Monday. This
  crest would be slightly below the crest on May 22 of
  7 feet. It is important to remember this forecast is
  based on water which is already in the Platte
  River basin. Changes to the forecast water level will be
  possible should substantial rainfall be realized across
  the basin through south central or western Nebraska at
  anytime this week or next.
* at 6.0 feet...Minor flooding of rural lowlands occur.

OVERNIGHT HOURS. REPEATED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS WEEK COULD
RESULT IN AREAS OF EXCESSIVE RAINFALL...AND POSSIBLY LOCALIZED
FLOODING. IN ADDITION...SOME STORMS COULD BE SEVERE. HOWEVER...IT IS
TO EARLY TO IDENTIFY ANY SPECIFIC THREATS OR TIME FRAMES.
