* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR POOR DRAINAGE AREAS
  FOR...
  SOUTH CENTRAL MEADE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA...
  SOUTH CENTRAL PENNINGTON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA...
  NORTHEASTERN CUSTER COUNTY IN SOUTHWESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA...

* UNTIL 815 PM MDT

* AT 516 PM MDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING.
  OVERFLOWING POOR DRAINAGE AREAS WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. 1 TO 1.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN FROM JUST
  NORTH OF NEW UNDERWOOD TO THE RAPID CITY REGIONAL AIRPORT.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  SOUTHEASTERN BOX ELDER...NEW UNDERWOOD...HERMOSA...CAPUTA...
  FOLSOM...FARMINGDALE AND RAPID CITY AIRPORT.

THIS INCLUDES INTERSTATE 90 IN SOUTH DAKOTA BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 67
AND 82.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR WESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA AND
NORTHEASTERN WYOMING.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

RAIN SHOWERS AND ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR
ACROSS THE REGION TODAY AND TONIGHT. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE
NOT EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

SEVERAL DISTURBANCES WILL CROSS THE AREA DURING THE REST OF THIS
WEEK THROUGH THE WEEKEND...PRODUCING DAILY CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS.

A LARGE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE ENTIRE REGION
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WITH LIQUID PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF
ONE INCH POSSIBLE. COLDER AIR WRAPPING INTO THE SYSTEM SATURDAY
NIGHT AND SUNDAY COULD LEAD TO ACCUMULATING SNOW OVER THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE BLACK HILLS. CONFIDENCE IS HIGH WITH THE
PRECIPITATION...BUT CONFIDENCE IS LOW WITH REGARDS TO THE
CHANGEOVER TO SNOW AND SUBSEQUENT POTENTIAL SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS. STAY TUNED.
