...LARGE SOUTH SWELL EXPECTED BY SUNDAY...

A POWERFUL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
GENERATED A LONG-PERIOD SOUTH SWELL THAT WILL ARRIVE IN HAWAIIAN
WATERS THIS WEEKEND...AND CONTINUE INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE
SWELL WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR SURGES IN HARBORS FACING
SOUTH...AND MAY LEAD TO WAVES BREAKING IN AND NEAR HARBOR
ENTRANCES...ESPECIALLY SUNDAY AND MONDAY. EXTREME TIDE CHANGES MAY
LEAD TO LOCALLY STRONG CURRENTS...EVEN IN CHANNEL ENTRANCES.

BOATERS SHOULD BE ALERT TO LARGER THAN NORMAL SURF ALONG SOUTH
SHORES THIS WEEKEND...AND TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS.
