...SEVERE WEATHER STILL POSSIBLE FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE...

THE POTENTIAL STILL EXISTS FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP LATE
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...ESPECIALLY NORTH OF I-40. PRIMARY
THREATS LOOK TO BE LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND MAYBE AN
ISOLATED TORNADO OR TWO. THE BEST CHANCE FOR ANY SEVERE WEATHER WILL
BE FOR AREAS NEAREST THE KENTUCKY STATE LINE BETWEEN 5 AND 10 PM.

THE ATMOSPHERE CONTINUES TO DESTABILIZE AS CLOUDS THIN OUT AND THE
SUN WARMS US INTO THE UPPER 70S. HOWEVER...THE AIR IS DRYING OUT AS
WE WARM UP AND THIS WILL LIMIT STORM COVERAGE GREATLY. THAT
SAID...ONE OR TWO ISOLATED SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING SEVERE WEATHER ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION DURING THE LATE
AFTERNOON. THE MAIN THREAT WILL LIKELY COME IN THE FORM OF A LINE
THIS EVENING MOVING IN FROM THE NORTHWEST AND ACROSS FAR NORTHERN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WOULD BE THE PRIMARY
CONCERN WITH THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS.

PLEASE REMAIN WEATHER AWARE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE OUT AND ABOUT
ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

A RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXISTS FROM THE MID TO LATE
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...AND AGAIN FROM THE LATE EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT HOURS ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND SOUTHERN
APPALACHIAN REGION ALONG AND AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT.

THERE IS SOME UNCERTAINTY REGARDING STORM COVERAGE...PARTICULARLY
WITH RESPECT TO THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING ACTIVITY.
HOWEVER...SHOULD A THUNDERSTORM DEVELOP...THE ENVIRONMENT IN PLACE
WOULD ALLOW IT TO QUICKLY BECOME SEVERE. DAMAGING WINDS UP TO 70
MPH...AND LARGE HAIL OF GOLFBALL SIZE WILL BE THE PRIMARY IMPACTS
WITH THIS ACTIVITY. HOWEVER...AN ISOLATED TORNADO OR TWO CANNOT BE
RULED OUT. ADDITIONALLY...HEAVY RAINS FROM THIS ACTIVITY MAY ALSO
CAUSE LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING PROBLEMS.

PLEASE MONITOR THE LATEST FORECAST INFORMATION REGARDING THE SEVERE
WEATHER POTENTIAL FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...PARTICULARLY
IF YOU HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. HAVE A WAY
TO RECEIVE ANY WATCH AND WARNING INFORMATION AND KNOW WHAT ACTIONS
TO TAKE SHOULD A WARNING BE ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA.
