EXTENDING FROM 6 MILES SOUTH OF RICHMOND TO 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF BEE
LICK TO 12 MILES SOUTHWEST OF LIBERTY...AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 35
MPH.

DIME SIZE HAIL IS POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... SOMERSET...LONDON...MOUNT
VERNON...BEATTYVILLE...MCKEE...BOONEVILLE... SCIENCE
HILL...BURNSIDE...IDA MAY...COOKSBURG AND EGLON.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS...WHICH WILL

CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

A LINE OF SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE
THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING HOURS. THE MAIN THREATS WITH
THIS ACTIVITY WILL BE GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL. HAIL WILL LIKELY
BE NO LARGER THAN PEA SIZED. THESE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL MOVE
THROUGH DURING THE AFTERNOON/EVENING COMMUTE AND MAY SLOW TRAVEL
TIMES.

ADDITIONALLY...RAIN SHOWERS ALONG THE EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS MAY
MIX WITH OR CHANGE OVER TO SNOW AS COLDER AIR FILTERS INTO THE
REGION. TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD ENOUGH ACROSS THE HIGHEST
ELEVATIONS...GENERALLY AT OR ABOVE 4500 FEET...FOR THE RAIN TO MIX
WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW...AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
ARE POSSIBLE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

AN UPPER-LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING COLDER AIR INTO THE REGION
FOR THURSDAY...ALLOWING FOR LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ALONG THE PEAKS OF
THE EAST TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS. THESE TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD
ENOUGH ACROSS THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS...GENERALLY AT OR ABOVE 4500
FEET...FOR THE RAIN TO MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.

AREAS MOST OF RISK OF SEEING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE ACROSS THE
HIGHEST ELEVATIONS OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS AND ROANE MOUNTAIN.
ANYONE VENTURING ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS...SUCH AS HIKERS OR PERSONS
DRIVING ACROSS HIGHWAY 441...SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR WINTRY-LIKE

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE IN FROM THE NORTH SATURDAY EVENING INTO
SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL RESULT IN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING...SOME OF WHICH COULD BE STRONG SATURDAY EVENING ALONG
AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 64. MAIN THREATS WOULD BE SMALL
HAIL...GUSTY WINDS...AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
