The winter storm is finally exiting the area. One last light band of snow is currently affecting Aberdeen but additional accumulations will remain under 1 inch. Winds remain strong through the night before tapering off tomorrow. The big threat we want to continue to highlight is the massive cold air outbreak that will entrench itself across the region through the weekend. Temperatures get dangerous tonight and there will be no reprieve through the weekend. Wind chills will be even colder. Through the period from tonight through the weekend, wind chills will routinely hit 20 to 30 degrees below zero while actual air temperatures will struggle to break 0 in many areas. This is early for extreme cold such as this so please take it seriously. If traveling, be sure you have supplies to keep you safe and warm if you have car trouble. It does not take long for cold borne illnesses to set in with these type of temperatures. Thanks and stay safe everyone.
