Our recent run of warm temperatures and dry conditions will come to an end today. As a cold front moves east across Kansas and Missouri over the next few days several periods of showers and thunderstorms will affect the region. Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday afternoon and evening and again on Thursday. In addition heavy rainfall is expected over the next 3 days with up to 2 1/2 inches of rain possible in some areas. By Friday the rain will have moved off and in its place cooler and drier air will overspread Kansas and Missouri with highs only reaching the 60s.
