A gradual warming trend is expected this week as the frigid, arctic air finally releases the firm grip it has held on the Tri-State region. A couple cold fronts will pass through, bringing an abrupt but brief halt to the warming trend before temperatures rebound the next day. Today will be the coldest day of the week. The first cold front moves through Tuesday night and cooler temperatures should be felt Wednesday. The warming trend resumes Thursday and Friday with temperatures nearing or exceeding normal levels for this time of year. Dry weather can be expected with mostly sunny skies throughout the work week.
