Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

A winter storm still is expected to impact the area later this weekend. While precipitation on Saturday afternoon will mainly be rain, it will switch over to snow across central and southeast Illinois during the evening, and continue in many areas overnight into Sunday. Locations south of I-70 have more of a potential for a rain/snow mixture at times, which would lower snow totals there, but further north, 5 to 8 inches are likely in much of central Illinois.
