Graphical depiction of the weather story for today.

A low pressure system will drop southeast across the area on Wednesday, ushering in colder air and some snow. The snow is expected to enter western Minnesota towards daybreak Wednesday and spread eastward into east central Minnesota where it may mix with rain before becoming all snow by afternoon. The precipitation will continue into west central Wisconsin where it is expected to fall as a mix of rain and snow, before turning to all snow Wednesday evening. Snow accumulation up to an inch is expected across central and southern Minnesota on Wednesday with little accumulation across west central Wisconsin. However, the snow will persist Wednesday evening across east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin, or areas along and east of Interstate 35 and along and south of Interstate 94. Further accumulation of an inch or two is likely in these areas. Travel may be adversely affected during the late afternoon and evening when snowfall rates will be highest.
